Sending Hidden Data to Integrations
Note: Integrations must be set up by a Toolkit admin. To connect any of the integrations below, contact support and let us know which integration you'd like added to your account.
Sending Hidden Data to Integrations
You can send hidden data along with form submissions to your connected integrations. This is useful for passing tracking information, campaign tags, source identifiers, or any other metadata that the visitor does not fill in directly.
Setting Up Hidden Fields
- Open your widget in the Popup editor.
- Select the Submit button.
- In the On Submit Actions panel, add the action Update Custom Field.
Configuring the Hidden Field
Each hidden field has two parts:
- Name -- The field name (key) that your integration will receive. This must match a custom field name in your connected integration.
- Value -- The data to send. You can set this as:
-
Manual text -- Type a fixed value (e.g.
homepage_popup,campaign_spring). -
Dynamic value -- Click the bracket icon
{ }to select from available dynamic values such as the current page URL, referrer, UTM parameters, or other form field values.
Use Cases
- Source tracking -- Send a hidden field with the widget name or page URL so you know where each subscriber came from.
- Campaign tagging -- Automatically tag subscribers with a campaign identifier for segmentation.
- UTM passthrough -- Capture UTM parameters from the page URL and forward them to your CRM.
- A/B test variants -- Pass a variant identifier to track which version of a widget converted.
