Getting Started

Get your first Popup widget live in just a few minutes. This guide walks you through creating, customizing, and activating a widget.

Step 1: Create a New Widget

Navigate to the Widgets section of your Popup dashboard and click Create Widget.

Step 2: Customize the Design

Choose a template from the available options and click Create. The widget editor opens with your selected template loaded.

To modify the appearance, select any element on the canvas. The properties panel on the right lets you adjust:

  • Text content, fonts, and colors
  • Background colors and images
  • Spacing, sizing, and alignment
  • Element visibility and positioning

Step 3: Customize the Button Action

Select the submit button in your widget to open its settings. Navigate to On Submit Actions to define what happens when a visitor submits the form.

Available actions include:

  • Redirect to URL -- send visitors to a thank-you page or download
  • Show Screen -- display a confirmation or success screen within the widget
  • Send to Integration -- pass subscriber data to your connected email service or CRM

You can chain multiple actions together for a single submission.

Step 4: Customize Display Rules

Switch to the Display Rules tab to control when and where your widget appears.

Template defaults are a solid starting point, but you can customize:

  • Trigger -- when the widget appears (on page load, after delay, on scroll, on exit intent, etc.)
  • Targeting -- which pages or URL patterns to show the widget on
  • Frequency -- how often returning visitors see the widget
  • Conditions -- additional rules like device type, referral source, or date range

Step 5: Save and Activate

Once you are satisfied with the design, actions, and display rules:

  1. Click Save to store your changes
  2. Toggle the widget status to Active

Your widget is now live and will display to visitors based on your configured rules.
