Why Conversions Don't Match New Leads
Understanding conversion counting
The number of conversions and new leads may not always match. Here are the most common reasons:
- Non-email widgets active — You have active widgets that don't collect emails. For example, a widget offering an e-book download where the conversion is counted when the button is clicked and the visitor is taken to another page. No email is collected, so no new lead is created, but the conversion still counts.
- Existing subscriber submits again — A visitor who is already a subscriber submits another widget. Since they're already in your list, they won't appear as a new lead, but their conversion is still counted.
- Deleted subscriber — You deleted a subscriber from your list. Deleting a subscriber does not remove their conversion from the count.
- Duplicate submissions — A visitor filled in the same widget more than once. To prevent this, use the Display Rule: "Don't Show If Widget was submitted in the last X number of days."
