Framework

Build · 6 pods · 36 courses

Framework is one of the nine pillars in the DirectoryToolkit curriculum. Each pillar is organized into six focus areas (pods), and each pod has six courses that build on each other.

You've assessed the opportunity. Now it's time to build something that works. Framework answers the question: "Can I build something that works?"

This pillar takes you from zero to a functioning platform. You'll select your tech stack, establish your business identity, configure your systems, define your directory structure, power the backend, and prepare your go-to-market plan. By the end, you won't just have a website — you'll have a connected, configured business machine ready for its first customers.

What You'll Learn

Architecture Group

The essential stack every online business needs to function. You'll learn why single-focus matters, how to choose the right CMS, set up commerce and payments, implement a CRM for customer tracking, establish email as your core communication layer, and organize your full tool stack for clarity and scalability.

Identity Group

Establish the core of your business identity. From choosing the right legal entity to naming your business, securing domains, building a unified brand identity, designing a logo, and selecting a consistent color palette — these courses ensure your business looks and feels like a real business from day one.

Config Group

Configure and connect your systems for smooth operation. You'll walk through core platform settings, integrations between tools, payment processor setup, visual banners, navigation design, and menu structure. This is the nuts-and-bolts work that separates a configured business from a default template.

Structure Group

Define the building blocks of your directory platform. Categories, pricing plans, forms, widgets, content types, and document storage — each course covers one structural element you need in place. These are the components your users interact with daily, and getting them right from the start saves painful restructuring later.

Engine Group

Power the backend technical systems. These courses cover page design and optimization, lead magnet creation, developer-level customization, thorough testing before launch, knowledge capture for delegation, and how AI fits into your content creation workflow. This is where your platform moves from configured to capable.

Go-To-Market Group

Load the machine with offers, audience, and a launch plan. You'll define your launch posture, traffic strategy, lead capture system, core product, offer packaging, and a 60-90 day roadmap from ready to released. When you finish this pod, you're not planning anymore — you're launching.
