Strategy

6 courses · part of Foundation (Assess)

Strategy is one of six pods in the Foundation pillar. Each course in this pod builds on the one before it.

Every business needs a strategic backbone. Strategy is where you take everything from the first five groups -- your personal constraints, your chosen model, your validated market, your ecosystem position -- and forge it into a coherent plan that guides every decision you make.

This pod is structured around six anchoring questions: Who do you serve? What do you offer? Where do you operate? When do you execute? Why does this matter? How does it all work together? Answer these clearly and honestly, and every downstream decision becomes easier. Leave them vague, and you will second-guess yourself at every turn.

What You'll Learn

  • Strategic Planning -- Build a strategic plan that is concise enough to remember and detailed enough to act on. You will learn the difference between strategy and tactics, understand why most entrepreneurs confuse the two, and build a plan that actually drives daily decisions.
  • Mission Definition -- Write a mission statement that means something. Not a corporate platitude that could belong to any company, but a clear declaration of who you help, how you help them, and why you are the one doing it. Your mission becomes your filter.
  • Vision Setting -- Define where you are taking this business in 1, 3, and 5 years. Your vision becomes the measuring stick for every opportunity and distraction that comes your way. It tells you what to say yes to and, more importantly, what to say no to.
  • Goal Frameworks -- Set goals that drive behavior instead of collecting dust. You will build a framework that connects your long-term vision to quarterly targets to weekly actions, closing the gap between ambition and execution that kills most plans.
  • Strategic Positioning -- Lock in your competitive position with a strategy that competitors cannot easily copy. This goes beyond the positioning work in Ecosystem to define your full strategic moat -- the combination of factors that makes your business defensible.
  • Decision Architecture -- Design a repeatable system for making business decisions. When opportunities, partnerships, pivots, and crises arrive, your decision architecture tells you how to evaluate them against your strategy instead of reacting emotionally.

By the End of This Pod

  • A one-page strategic plan that answers Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How
  • A mission statement and vision that guide daily decisions, not just decorate your website
  • A goal framework connecting your 5-year vision to this week's priorities with nothing lost in between
  • A decision-making system that keeps you strategically consistent even when the pressure is high and the options are tempting
