Loops
Loops is one of six pods in the Flywheel pillar. Each course in this pod builds on the one before it.
Getting someone to buy is hard. Getting them to keep using what they bought is harder. Engagement is where you learn to design the systems that keep customers active, involved, and coming back -- not because you reminded them, but because the experience rewards continued use.
This pod covers activation triggers, habit loops, gamification, progress tracking, community activity, and re-engagement campaigns. Disengaged customers do not complain. They just leave. The businesses that win long-term are the ones that make engagement the default state, not something they chase after the fact.
These six courses teach you to build products and experiences people habitually return to.
What You'll Learn
- Activation Triggers -- Design the critical first actions that turn a new customer into an active one. You will learn activation metric definition, onboarding friction removal, and the specific behaviors that predict long-term engagement so you can engineer them into the early experience.
- Habit Loops -- Build cue-routine-reward cycles into your product or service that create automatic return behavior. You will learn habit psychology, loop design, and how to embed your offering into your customer's daily or weekly routine.
- Gamification -- Apply game mechanics -- points, badges, levels, streaks, leaderboards -- to non-game experiences. You will learn which mechanics work for business contexts, which ones backfire, and how to gamify without cheapening the experience.
- Progress Tracking -- Give customers visibility into their own advancement, completions, and milestones. You will learn progress visualization, milestone design, and how showing people how far they have come makes them far more likely to keep going.
- Community Activity -- Design community interactions that generate their own energy: discussions, challenges, collaborations, showcases. You will learn activity architecture, facilitation techniques, and how to build communities where engagement feeds itself.
- Re-Engagement Campaigns -- Win back customers who have gone quiet before they are gone for good. You will learn disengagement detection, re-engagement timing, message design, and the offers that bring people back without training them to disengage for the discount.
