Import Settings: New Listings Import - Show Existing (Yes or No)

Import·Directory Toolkit·May 12, 2025· 2 minutes

The import tool uses Google search to find locations that you can import based off from the location and keyword added to the filter criteria for the search. The Google API is limited to 60 listings at a time in their API response. So what if your criteria is a keyword with lots of locations or a large location with more than 60 listings? It is possible that the 60 listings returned by the API are locations you have already imported. This would prevent you from downloading the next 60 from the list because the ones that Google is providing have already been imported. To allow Google to provide another set of listings you have NOT imported, we have added the “Show Existing” toggle to allow you to turn off those that you already imported to allow Google to show 60 more.

In this case you would place the Show Existing button to “No” to see 60 new listings to import (or however many you have set on the number setting). Sometimes it is beneficial to leave on or as “Yes” to see that there are indeed results, and see that you have added them all. If you leave the toggle as “No”, just remember that it may show no results found, not because the tool is not working or that there are no actual results, but because there are no new or additional listings to import that you have not already added.

no results

There may be 50 results for instance but may show no results because those 50 were already imported. But even if you leave the setting as “Yes” you do not need to be afraid of importing the same listing twice. Our system will recognize based on the Google Place ID that those listings were already imported by showing “Google (Existing)” and will not allow you to save it again by showing that it is already “Saved”.
