How do the Outscraper credits work?

Import·Directory Toolkit·May 13, 2025· 4 minutes

Our import tool currently utilizes several Outscraper “services.” Each of these services have thier own independent number of FREE monthly credits and use of each credit pool per service will depend on tool settings and use. The tool currently utilizes the following services:

To remain on the FREE level of the tool, you have 500 credits for each service.  Each use of the tool is 1 credit, so you have 500 company listing scrapes, 500 reviews, 500 images, and 500 domain scrapes for email and social media links.  Each service has its own pool and pricing which you can click above to review. Keep in mind although you may get close or go over your limit at times it is only a couple dollars per 1000 items or portions of a cent per item and can go a long way for a little money.  If you go over the free amount for any particular service, you will be billed for additional credit use, either by deduction from your prepaid deposit or by end of month invoicing/payment if you did not select prepay.  Those setup options and processes are reviewed here.

Settings you select on the tool will effect the pools of each one differently, so for example if you setup that you will import 5 photos and 5 reviews for each 1 listing, then you will use 1 credit from each pool but 5 from the reviews and photos.  So while you technically can import 500/mo for free, this would limit you to only 100 free per month before you hit your image and review limit.

The maps scraper use is based simply on the pull of the main listing data.  Settings in the configurations control the other three and can be turned off or adjusted.  For image there is a checkbox and photo number setting as seen below. In this example, this would use 10 of your 500 photo credits.

Photo configurations
The same options in the configuration tab can be found for reviews. Again in this example this would use 30 or your 500 monthly review credits.

For the emails and contacts that is controlled through the Load contact information selection seen below.

These settings are for the overall default settings. You will note that you will also have the option to add or turn off reviews, photos and contact information for each item before importing to conserve those credits if you desire. Just select or unselect for each search result option before selecting “Load data” button or bulk load data option.

There is one more option that can affect your credit use. Many users due to the nature of Google API use on the platform are close or are paying Google for maps API use. The tool normally uses these Google API credits to do the initial serch and mapping display of listings. For those who are close to their Google API credit limit we added a configuration to do the initial search through Outscraper instead. This configuration option which is normally off can be selected if desired in the settings. This will cause use of credits to find the initial listing results, and again to pull the complete data once chosen to import.

That covers the import tab credit use. These same services can be used to update existing listings on your site. The first step is to load the Google ID for your existing listings. After doing so you can choose to pull information from these services using the option per listing or inbulk by choosing multiple and using the bilk feature. These are done individually to allow only overwriting desired info. For example some site might already have profile pictures, or altered addresses. Even loading missing profile data will allow you to select the specific items you want to overide.

Update info

There is an additional setting in the configuration that you can select if you want to automatically overide the missing profile data so this manual selection is not required.
