Settings
The Settings tab is where you manage your site's connection to DirectoryCustomize and control notification preferences. Most users only visit this tab during initial setup or if they need to update a key.

API Keys
Two keys keep your site connected to DirectoryCustomize:
| Key | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Relay API Key | Connects your site to the DirectoryCustomize service. This is set up automatically during first-time setup. |
| BD Site API Key | Lets DirectoryCustomize communicate with your BD admin panel. Generated from your BD Developer Hub. |
Each key shows a status indicator:
- Connected — The key is valid and working
- Offline — The connection is temporarily unavailable
- Checking... — The plugin is verifying the key
To update a key, click the edit icon next to it, paste the new key, and save. The page reloads automatically once the new key is verified.
If you're not sure where to find your BD API key, go to BD Admin → Developer Hub → Generate API Key. Copy the key immediately — BD only shows it once.

Notifications
Control what emails you receive from DirectoryCustomize:
| Setting | What It Controls |
|---|---|
| Update available | Get an email when a widget has a new version ready |
| Update applied | Get an email when an auto-update is installed |
| New products | Get an email when new widgets are added to the catalog |
Toggle each setting on or off based on your preference.
